Self Identity
There's only one infinite field of Consciousness. It's indescribable by language and the mind. It doesn't have any of the normal attributes we are familiar with. Everything that appears is within this field, including us. For there to be an appearance of a world, people and objects the constructs of space, time and matter are needed. However, they are only temporary appearances in infinite Consciousness. Infinite Consciousness creates limited versions that appear as 'personal' consciousness. It's a bit like the iris of a camera. When it's opened up the whole scene is apparent. When it's focused down it shows a limited view - our world view.
For these limited expressions of consciousness to have an experience they need a vehicle. So a body-mind is used. Consciousness is not in the body-mind. It's external in the field. So the body-mind is your avatar you operate. When it ceases to function you as consciousness remain. Just as when your avatar in a computer game is killed the player remains. The brain is a limiting valve on the fullness of Consciousness. It's the input-output device that accesses the field. If the brain is damaged it doesn't affect consciousness itself. Just as if your tv breaks down the transmission is unaffected.
When self-realisation occurs the limited expression of consciousness you thought you were (the person) opens up to discover that it's the whole. So you were never in the world, the world appeared in You. So there are higher levels of consciousness where the iris lens opens up. These are the Samadhis in the Vedic texts. It's like the cinema where the screen shows all of these separate objects but when you sit back in your seat you know that it's just a single projection of light onto a screen.
From Bruce Lipton (cell biologist), author of The Biology of Belief:
If you take cells or organs out of your body and put them in anybody else's body that individual will reject those cells and organs because their immune system will recognise that the cells or organs are not from themselves. So basically it means that each of us has a 'self-identity'. What's very interesting in understanding the nature of the cell's nervous system is the relationship of the cell membrane to the cell. On the surface of our cells are antennas or receptors. A group of them specifically studied by medicine are referred to as 'self-receptors' and for me that is a very profound title for those particular receptors or receivers of 'self'.
Why this is relevant is that those receptors receive an ‘identity' on the outside surface of the cells. So whatever the ‘self signal’ is, it's out in the environment and picked up by these receptors. This means that our identity is not within our biology but is part of the field. Our biology downloads this information from the field. So when we talk about our personal identity we can talk about that identity isolated and localised in our physical body but we can also talk about the same information or identity that is present in the field.
This is very supportive of the fact that our identity is not localised within the body. Our identity is part of the field and exists all over the planet. Then when two people have two physical bodies they can interact, but they can also have two environmental identifications, meaning some kind of energy in the field that is unique to them. Since the field is 'entangled,' identities are integrated with each other all over the world. So people are never really separated from each other by physical distances with regard to their personal identities even though their bodies may be separated.
So basically the nature of people communicating with each other is to recognise that individual identities have a vibrational frequency or signature in the field and can interact with each other, especially if there is harmonic resonance, meaning that their two frequencies share common wavelengths. So when they come together they vibrate together and this is how two people can actually feel each other, particularly when they are closely related eg mother and child. They can pick up on the vibrations of the other because there is a complementary connection between them.
The significance is that we have an opportunity to interact on a non-physical plane through our identity that is in the field. This is very important because it is not localised in space and time. So people can communicate over vast distances on this planet at exactly the same moment in time.
