Always By Accident

I have never written a blog before, this is my first time here but reading through everything I have a sudden urge to get this off my chest. I am 24 now ( 24 yesterday in fact :) ) and ever since I was little I have had strange experiences, for example I was quite young when I accidentally fell into a meditate state and saw hands and faces. Back then I was scared of it, and it wasn't until I was 15 that I began to explore Spiritualism and I finally had a name for all these things, I grew up really thinking I was just one strange kid. Problem is, I really wish I could be in control of this, as I try and meditate but nothing happens. Whenever I have experiences its always by accident, or when I'm not thinking about it, and although I'm happy to have these experiences, I so wish it could come when I'm focused on doing so. Oh I hope someone understands!

Anyway, I just had to say that I hope you don't mind. Please, if anyone has any ideas or any of their own experiences, id feel so much better to know I am not alone in my frustration!!

I think it also helps to define what is a psychic experience [your own intuition and perceptions] and what is a mediumistic experience [tuning into spirits trying to make contact]. In my experience once you are resonating with your own psychic-ness you will experience the knowing-ness of what is right for you and premonitions etc. Making contact with spirit is normally different and you should be able to differentiate between the two. Keep a record of your experiences, as they are often enlightening looking back, or communally they often have a larger message.
You don't say, explicitly what these experiences are, and it helps to ground them in the real world. You can use this space to write about them or speak to someone who will take your experiences seriously, will listen and guide you.
It is a gift.
You are blessed.

I know what you mean, I have had a lot of different experiences but I have never been prepared for it. It still takes me unaware now, mostly preminitions. Sometimes they are about big things but a lot of the time it is just trivial things that spring into my mind and out again! Then i find it all happening in exactly the same way as I thought!

Spirits want to let us know here in the material world that they exist and this is how they do it, by making contact. However, their contact needs to be at a convenient time and in a comfortable way for us. Psychic Development does this and our guides and ourselves are trained to only allow messages at specific time. Try a development circle or one to one assistance from a spiritual advisor can also help.

Hi Carly,
Why don't you try to find a local spiritual group in your area where you can meet regularly. It's very comforting to spend time with like-minded people with whom you can discuss these issues. You may find somewhere near you on this website.
Good luck!
Jane

Hi Ian, thanks very much for replying to my little rant there, i agree with what you say regarding my state of mind whilst im trying to meditate, i think i do try too hard and probably not "letting go" like i should. Up until recently i was meditating everyday and sometimes laying/sitting there for a ridiculous amount of time which didnt help i dont think. My favourite book ( Raymond Bucklands Book Of Spirit Communications) says its best to do it little and often especially at first, and not to try too hard. So thats what im going too do, as i think for all this time although i thought i wasnt, i think i was probably laying there intensley willing for something to happen, therefore preventing it from doing so!
Thanks again, im definately going to read some more and take all advice given :)

Hi Carly,

If you persevere with the mediation over time you will be able to control your extra sensory abilities much more. The reason that you might not be able to sense
anything at the moment whilst meditating is probably due your mind being too conscious as you are desperately trying to prove you have control over your gift.
In a sense you are not yet quite reaching the meditate switched off state. I tend to experience more when I'm doing an activity like reading or enjoying music where my left brain isn't engaged into trying to think. I believe it's the right brain that kicks in when where doing creative endeavours or stuff we know really well. Doing things that are second nature to us really help in inducing the meditate state whilst awake, such as playing an instrument, singing, dancing, reading, writing or walking in nature. I would
definitely continue with the meditation as it teaches discipline. Which you should learn now that you are more aware of your abilities. I'm sure others readers on the site here can help you as well.

Thanks
Ian
